Good to know before ordering

  • Ten letters at most for the name, thirteen characters for the line of dates.
  • The line of dates is engraved exactly as you write it: we neither format it nor check it.

Wearing and care

The dates line takes two years alone — “1942 – 2025” — as readily as two full dates. Within thirteen characters two years fit comfortably; two full dates will not, and the two-year form stays the most legible on a fifteen-millimetre bead.

The long dash can be typed straight into the field. If your keyboard does not offer one, a short hyphen looks the same once engraved: the difference does not show at this size.

What occasion is this bracelet given for?

Can a nickname be engraved rather than a first name?

Yes, and it is the commonest use: “Nanna”, “Grandpa”, a family diminutive. The field takes ten letters, with apostrophe, hyphen and space, and keeps lower case exactly as you type it.

What can go in place of the two dates?

Whatever you choose, within thirteen characters made of digits, spaces, full stops, slashes and hyphens. Two years separated by a long dash is the most legible form, but a single year or a full date work too.

Does the feather carry a particular meaning?

None that we have fixed: it points to no religion and no particular tradition. Everyone reads into it what they wish, which makes it giveable without knowing what the person believed.

How do I choose my size?

Measure your wrist with a soft tape or a piece of string, just below the bone. Size 1 covers 15 to 18 cm, size 2 covers 18 to 21 cm, size 3 covers 21 to 24 cm; two children’s sizes, 11 to 16 cm, are available on some models. Each bracelet is then adjusted by pulling on the cords: the size gives a comfort range, not a fixed measurement.

Is the bracelet water-resistant?

The braided marine cord handles water without trouble. Cherry wood is a living material: avoid long baths, swimming pools and saunas, and dry it if it gets caught in the rain. It develops a patina over time, which is normal.

How do I care for the wood?

A drop of jojoba oil, or any neutral vegetable oil, on a soft cloth whenever the wood looks dry or dull: it feeds the wood and revives its colour. Nothing else is needed.

How long does it take to make and ship?

Every bracelet is engraved to order in our workshop in Aveyron, France, then shipped within 48 h, to your door or to a pickup point. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout.

Does it arrive ready to give?

Yes. It ships in a natural kraft box tied with string, with no plastic: it can be given as it is, with no extra wrapping.

Is it suitable for men and women?

Yes, it is unisex. Sizes 1 to 3 cover wrists from 15 to 24 cm, and two children’s sizes, 11 to 16 cm, are available on some models.

Can I give it without knowing their wrist size?

Yes. Each bracelet adjusts along the whole range of its size thanks to the sliding knots, and size 2 (18 to 21 cm) fits most adult wrists. If in doubt, quietly measure a watch or a bracelet they already wear.

How far ahead should I order for a specific date?

Allow 48 h for engraving, then two to three days in transit and two days more for the crossing from France. For a fixed date — a birthday, Valentine’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas — order ten days ahead to be safe.

The feather is engraved horizontally, across the bead, shaft and barbs in a fine line. Below it, the first name or the nickname — the one actually used — then the two dates.

The dates are written the way you write them: “1942 – 2025”, or two years alone. Thirteen characters at most, long dash included — two full dates would not fit.
