Personalised birthday gifts: everything starts from one date
When you do not know what to give for a birthday, you do know one thing: the date. That is enough. The star sign follows from it without asking anyone, and is engraved as a discreet glyph on a wooden bead. The sky of the birth night is calculated for the exact place and hour — the stars visible to the naked eye that night, not a decoration. The moon of that night is drawn with the twenty-nine nights of its lunar month around it. And the date itself can be engraved, on a second line below two initials. The star map additionally needs the place and an approximate hour.

Do I need the exact hour of birth for the star map?
An approximate hour is enough. The sky turns about fifteen degrees an hour: a thirty-minute error shifts the constellations barely visibly. The place matters more — it is what decides which stars are above the horizon.
Is there a birthday gift for a child?
The star sign bracelet comes in two children’s sizes: J1 for 11 to 13 cm around the wrist, J2 for 14 to 16 cm. The shaka bracelet appeals to teenagers: its sign reads as a friendly gesture rather than as jewellery.
How far ahead should I order?
Ten days are plenty: 48 h of engraving or printing to order, then six to seven days in transit. The print-it-yourself file of a poster, on the other hand, skips the workshop altogether.
