Full description
The journey from home to work, drawn on the map in the right place: both towns named, the road between them, the distance, and the years of the career under the title. It is the one thing everybody stops doing on retiring, and the one thing colleagues know — they have heard about that journey for years.
You look up the two places, frame the map, write the title, the years and a dedication. The road is calculated between the two points, not drawn by hand; streets, rivers and green spaces come from OpenStreetMap data. The print comes out exactly as you see it.

Frequently asked questions
What does the print show?
The journey from home to work on the map: both places marked, the road between them, and the framing you choose. Under the title, the years of the career and the distance of the journey; at the foot, the dedication you write. Streets, rivers and green spaces come from OpenStreetMap data.
Is it the real road?
Yes: it is calculated between the two points by a road routing service, not drawn by hand or replaced with a straight line. If that service is down while you are composing, the editor says so and draws the direct line — and the distance shown then becomes the crow-flies distance, which is stated.
Why is the distance not multiplied by the number of years?
Because we do not know it. Holidays, part-time years, working from home, years of car-sharing: the number of journeys actually made cannot be deduced from a start date and an end date. We show what can be measured, the distance of the journey, and you write the rest in the dedication if you wish.
It is a gift from the team — how does that work?
That is the most common use for this print. The framed 30 × 40 is the size that stands on a desk during the send-off and hangs afterwards; the larger sizes ship rolled in a tube. Write the dedication in the name of the department, or leave it empty and sign it by hand.
Which sizes, framed or unframed?
Five sizes: A4, 30 × 40, 40 × 60, 50 × 70 and 70 × 100 cm, on 250 g matte paper printed to order. A wooden frame is offered on A4 and 30 × 40, in black, white or natural; the larger sizes ship rolled, to be framed at home.

Yes. The print-ready file gives all five sizes, each as a PDF and a 300 dpi PNG, through a download link sent after payment. It is the same print we produce ourselves, at the same size and the same resolution.
