Which summits can be engraved?
Seven: Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn, Everest, Mount Fuji, K2, Aconcagua and the Pic du Midi d’Ossau. Each is engraved as an outline alone, with no name and no altitude — the profile is what names it. For a mountain not on the list, the GPS coordinates bracelet engraves the point of the summit.
What do you give someone whose favourite mountain is not famous?
The GPS coordinates bracelet: it engraves the latitude and longitude of the exact point, on two lines. Or the route poster, if you have the GPS track of the walk — it draws the route itself on the map, with the elevation gain.
Can the same bracelet be given to a whole rope party?
Yes, and it is a common use: two or three bracelets engraved with the same profile, each in its own size and cord colour. The identical outline makes the shared memory, the colour tells the wearers apart.
Does the poster work with a walking track and not only a ride?
Yes. The editor reads a GPX file from any activity — walking, trail running, ski touring — and takes the distance, the smoothed elevation gain and the duration from it. A library of well-known routes, from the GR 20 to the Tour du Mont Blanc, is there if you have no file.
Does the bracelet survive a week of walking?
The braided marine cord does: it handles sweat, rain and dust. Cherry wood comes off before a swim in a lake or a long shower — it is a living material, it develops a patina and does not like soaking.
