Full description
The sky of your night, with your photo set just beneath it. The stars are computed for the place, date and time you give — the evening you met, the night a baby was born, your wedding day — and the round photo overlaps the edge of the sky like a seal: the stars of that night, and the faces it brought together.
You upload the photo and frame it with your finger inside the medallion; what you see is what is printed. We tell you before you buy if its resolution is too low for the size you picked. It is used only to make your print, never published, and we delete it thirty days after your order ships — or after purchase, for the print-ready file.

- You upload your photo
From your phone or your computer. You position it in the medallion with your finger, and we tell you if it is too small for the size you have chosen.
- Give the place, the date and the time
A birth, a first meeting, a wedding. The time is the local time at the place; daylight saving is accounted for.
- We compute the sky
Every star visible to the naked eye, exactly where it was, and the constellations. Nine styles, a title, a dedication.
- We print close to you
To order, on 250 g matte paper, at the partner workshop nearest to your address. Or you receive the download link for the file by e-mail.

Frequently asked questions
Which photo works best in the medallion?
One with the faces near the middle, and a phone photo is enough. The medallion is round: you zoom and reposition it with your finger, and the preview shows exactly what will be printed. If the resolution is too low for the size you picked, the page tells you before you buy.
Do the sky and the photo have to be from the same day?
No. The sky is the one above the place, date and time you enter; the photo is whichever one you upload. The sky of the night you met with a wedding photo, or the sky of a birth with the first family portrait: the two are chosen separately.
What happens to the photo I upload?
It is used only to make your print. It is stored privately, never published, and we delete it thirty days after your order ships — or after purchase, for the print-ready file. The location data a phone photo carries is removed as soon as it is uploaded.
Can I add more than one photo?
No, just one, in the round medallion beneath the sky. To bring several people together, choose a photo where they are side by side with the faces near the middle: the circle mostly shows the centre of the image.
Is the photo printed in colour?
As you choose: in colour, exactly as you uploaded it, or in black and white, which matches the monochrome sky. You pick it in the editor and the preview shows it straight away.
What does the star map show?
The stars visible to the naked eye (down to magnitude 6) above the place, at the chosen date and time, with the constellations. North is at the top, the horizon at the edge of the disc, like a planisphere.
Is the sky accurate?
Positions are computed from the Hipparcos catalogue, precession included, at the local time of the place (daylight saving accounted for). Accuracy is around a tenth of a degree.
Which date and time should I enter?
Those of the moment you want to keep: a birth, a first meeting, a wedding. The time is the local time at the place; if you don’t know it, pick nightfall, around 10 pm.
Which sizes and frames?
A4, 30 × 40, 40 × 60, 50 × 70 and 70 × 100 cm: standard frame sizes, easy to find (IKEA, HEMA, Action, Desenio). Optional wooden frame on the A4 and 30 × 40, in black, white or natural, with acrylic glass; the larger sizes ship rolled, to frame at home.
What paper is the poster printed on?
250 g/m² satin matte paper, lightfast pigment inks. Printed to order in our workshop up to 40 × 60, by our printer beyond that. Shipped rolled in a rigid tube; the A4 travels flat, in a stiff card envelope.
Can I get the file instead of the poster?
Yes. The print-ready file (€8.90) contains all five sizes, each as a PDF and as a 300 dpi PNG — ten files in all, by a download link sent after payment, to print wherever you like.
How long does it take?
