Investigation
“Be there in five minutes”: said thousands of times, it has become a trademark. Our reporters timed it. On average, five minutes lasts twenty-two.
Eyewitness
We grew up together. Well, one of us did.
A childhood friend, name withheld
The front page takes shape as you type, and it’s exactly what will be printed. The figures in the box are worked out from the date of birth, up to the day of the birthday.
Their age in statistics, in huge letters: the “Bloody hell, you’re old” poster
MARCEL ET LES BLONDES
A newspaper front page all about their birthday: “Special edition”, their first name and age as the headline, their photo, two stories about the things they always do, a quote, the weather and a classified ad, with their days, Mondays and Christmases counted for real. Four layouts, A4 to 70 × 100 cm.

Their birthday makes the front page: “Special edition”, the name of the paper, their first name and age as the headline, their photo, two stories — the case of the last square of chocolate, running late as a way of life — a quote, the weather on the day and a classified ad. And in the “By the numbers” box, what’s true: their days on Earth, their Mondays, their Christmases, their full moons, counted up to the day of the birthday.
Every section comes with a suggestion that already raises a smile: keep it, roll the dice for another, or write your own stories. Upload a photo and frame it with your finger. Four layouts: the morning daily, the red and yellow tabloid, the old-time gazette in sepia, or a modern front page. The preview follows every keystroke, and it’s exactly what gets printed.
The keepsake: a birth, the sky of one date. Everyone owns an A4 frame, and it ships flat, in a stiff card envelope.
The entry size, the most common frame size: IKEA, HEMA, Action.
Bedroom and hallway décor, in 2:3 like a photograph. 40 × 60 frames at homeware or framing shops.
The flagship living-room size, sold across the market. Shipped rolled, in a sturdy long cardboard box, home delivery only.
The large wall size. 70 × 100 frames at IKEA (RÖDALM). Home delivery only.
Prefer to print it yourself? All five sizes, each as a PDF and as a 300 dpi PNG — ten files, by a download link sent after payment.
The date of birth gives the birthday you’re celebrating, the date of the edition and the figures in the box: days on Earth, Mondays, Christmases, full moons. You frame the photo with your finger.
Every section comes with an idea: keep it, roll the dice for another, or write your own stories. Then the layout: morning daily, tabloid, old-time gazette or modern.
To order, on 250 g matte paper: in our Aveyron workshop up to 40 × 60, at our printer beyond that, and every poster comes back through the workshop before it ships. Or you receive the download link for the file by e-mail.

More gift ideas: A birthday
A newspaper front page poster: their birthday as a “Special edition”, with their first name and age as the headline, their photo, two stories about the things they always do, a quote, the weather on the day and a classified ad. It’s a funny gift that gets read out loud at the party, then hung on the wall. It works for any big birthday, for a friend, a sister, a dad or a colleague, and it is made to order.
The front page of a newspaper: at the top, “Special edition”, the name of the paper and the date of the birthday; then the headline (“Emma turns 30”), a subheading, the photo and its caption, an “Exclusive” story and an “Investigation” story, a signed quote, a “By the numbers” box, the weather and a classified ad.
No. Every section comes with an idea already written with their name in it — the case of the last square of chocolate, running late as a way of life, the sat nav that throws in the towel. Keep it, roll the dice for another idea, or write your own stories. Whatever is in the field is what gets printed, and a real family story always gets a bigger laugh than ours.
Yes. They are calculated from the date of birth up to the day of the birthday being celebrated: their days on Earth, their Mondays, their Christmases and their full moons, counted one by one, and the distance travelled around the Sun. The world population in their year of birth comes from UN estimates, from 1950 to 2023. Everything else in the paper is a joke.
The first name, the date of birth and the birthday being celebrated, the name of the paper (36 characters, “The … Gazette” to start with), the subheading (80), the photo caption (56), two stories, each with a headline (44) and a text (220), a quote (140) and who it’s from, the weather (56), a classified ad (90), the photo and the layout, from four.
A sharp photo where you can see their face clearly: a portrait, a holiday snap, or a childhood photo for a laugh. You frame it with your finger in the editor. It turns black and white in the Daily layout, sepia in the Gazette, and stays in colour in the Tabloid and the Modern. The editor warns you if its resolution isn’t enough for the size you’ve chosen.
It stays private: it is never published, it is only used to make your poster, and we delete it thirty days after dispatch — or after purchase, for the print-ready file. The location data a phone writes into a photo is removed as soon as it is uploaded.
No. The name of the paper is yours — “The Emma Gazette”, “The Daily James” or whatever you like — and the layout doesn’t imitate any existing newspaper. Newspaper titles are trademarks: we don’t reproduce them.
Yes: the preview is composed by the same editor as the print, and a “Check your poster” screen opens before the basket so you can read over the name and the date.
A4, 30 × 40, 40 × 60, 50 × 70 and 70 × 100 cm: standard frame sizes, easy to find. Optional wooden frame on the A4 and 30 × 40, in black, white or natural, with acrylic glass; the larger sizes ship rolled, to frame at home. For a front page that gets read up close, A4 or 30 × 40 is plenty; a 40 × 60 can be read from a couple of steps away.
250 g/m² satin matte paper, lightfast pigment inks. Printed to order in our workshop up to 40 × 60, by our printer beyond that. Shipped rolled, in a sturdy long cardboard box; the A4 travels flat, in a stiff card envelope.
Yes. The print-ready file contains all five sizes, each as a PDF and as a 300 dpi PNG — ten files in all, by a download link sent after payment, to print wherever you like.
