Full description
The moon on the day each of you was born, side by side: two big moons, two names, two dates. Each one is shown at its real phase — a crescent for one, a full moon for the other, or two moons almost alike — on NASA’s image of the full Moon, lit as it was that day.
Add a third moon between them if you like: the day you met, your wedding day, or a date that belongs to you alone. Names and dates are all it takes: no time or place needed. Six styles, from black to white by way of midnight blue with golden moons, and a closing line of your own — “Two moons. One story.” to start with.

Do we need the time and place of birth?
No: names and dates are enough. Each moon is worked out for noon, Universal Time; at any other hour of the same day, the lit part differs by no more than seven points. The phase name itself can change during the day — about one day in four — and the print keeps the one at noon.
Are the moons real?
Yes: it is the image of the full Moon from NASA’s Scientific Visualization Studio, made from the LRO probe’s data, lit as it was at noon on each date, using Jean Meeus’s astronomical formulas. The name of the phase is written under each date.
What if one of us was born in the southern hemisphere?
At any given instant the phase is the same all over the Earth; seen from the southern hemisphere, the moon simply appears upside down: a waxing moon is lit on the left. The print shows it as seen from Europe.
What is the third moon for?
For the date that brought you together: when you met, your wedding, a first date. It sits under your two moons, smaller, with its caption. A future date is accepted, for a wedding gift given before the day.
Which sizes and frames?
A4, 30 × 40, 40 × 60, 50 × 70 and 70 × 100 cm: standard frame sizes, easy to find (IKEA, HEMA, Action, Desenio). Optional wooden frame on the A4 and 30 × 40, in black, white or natural, with acrylic glass; the larger sizes ship rolled, to frame at home.
