Full description

The recipe for love, written like the card you find in a grandmother’s notebook: ingredients, method, cooking time, storage — but filled with what we never say out loud. “2 fits of giggles at 3 a.m.”, “1 sofa far too small”, “a pinch of silence that says it all”. You write your ingredients and the steps of your story, give the day it all began, and the print counts the cooking time for you: the days you have really spent together, “and counting”. At the bottom, the secret ingredient — “You”, or whatever you like — and a note in the margin, like in old recipe books.

Four styles: grandma’s notebook on cream paper, the index card typed on a typewriter, the 1960s cookbook, the bistro slate. To get you started, ideas for ingredients and steps written for you, a dice per line, “Shuffle them all” — and every line stays free. The preview follows every keystroke, and it is exactly what gets printed. The gift for a wedding or dating anniversary, Valentine’s Day or a Christmas for two — for the one who cannot say “I love you” but can read a recipe.

  • Poster in the style of a 1960s cookbook: a tomato-red banner carrying “LA RECETTE DE L’AMOUR” and Léa & Thomas in cream italics, “Pour 2 personnes + 2 enfants”, put in the oven on 19 September 2009, cooking time 6,247 days, five ingredients (“1 bouteille de vin partagée sur un toit”…), four steps, a green handwritten note “Meilleur chaque année.” and the secret ingredient “Le temps”, inside a double red frame, shown in the French version

Frequently asked questions

What does the print show?

A recipe card in the style of a grandmother’s notebook: your names as the title, “Serves 2”, the day it all began, a cooking time counted in days, three to eight ingredients, two to four steps of method, a storage note, a secret ingredient and a note in the margin. Everything that is written is yours: the print says only what you wrote.

How is the cooking time worked out?

It is the number of days really spent together between the day it all began and the day you compose the print, counted from date to date. The number is saved with your order: the printed poster carries the one you saw on screen, even if it is made a few days later.

Do I have to fill everything in?

No. The names, the date, three ingredients and two steps are enough; the rest is optional and an empty line is not printed. What you see faded in the preview is an example and it is never printed.

What goes in the ingredients and the steps?

What we do not say often enough: a fit of giggles, a sofa that is too small, a trip where you got lost, a silence that says it all. If inspiration runs dry, fifteen ingredient ideas and ten step ideas are waiting, with a dice on each line and “Shuffle them all” — and every line stays free.

Who is it a gift for?

For a couple: a dating or wedding anniversary, Valentine’s Day, a Christmas for two. For the one who cannot say “I love you” but can read a recipe. The names are free text, so it can just as well be a family’s.

Can I remove the secret ingredient or the margin note?

Yes. “You” is a suggestion: change it, or clear the field so that the line does not appear. The note in the margin is optional too.

Can I see the print before I order?

Yes. The preview follows every keystroke and it is exactly what gets printed: the names, the date, the cooking time, your lines and the style you chose.
