Which places to write? Six ideas
  1. The place first, the date next: “Lisbon · August 2024”. Twenty-four characters at most: a short name works better than an address.
  2. A country, a city or a detail: “Sicily”, “Tokyo”, “Grandma’s cottage”.
  3. Arrange the photos in the order of the trip: the first card is the departure.
  4. Mix the shots: a landscape, a face, a plate of food. A postcard is not a portrait.
  5. A photo wider than it is tall loses nothing: a card is wider than it is tall.
  6. A screenshot keeps its black or grey bars: crop it before you upload it.

Full description

Your travel photos as postcards: an airmail border, a stamp, a slightly crooked postmark and the name of the place handwritten at the bottom. Three to nine cards, like the ones you never sent. A gift for travellers, honeymooners and round-the-world dreamers.

The title, signature and date are yours. Four papers, in colour or in black and white. What you see is exactly what is printed; your photos are only used to make the poster and are deleted thirty days after dispatch.

How it works

  1. You add your photos

All at once, from your phone or your computer. They take their place in the layout, in the order you arrange them; you can remove them, move them forward or back. While some are missing, the preview says so.

  2. You write what goes around them

A title, a signature, a small line (a date, a place). Four styles, in colour or in black and white. The preview is exactly what gets printed.

  3. We print in Aveyron

To order, on 250 g matte paper: in our Aveyron workshop, whatever the size, and every poster is checked there before it ships. Or you receive the download link for the file by e-mail.

Frequently asked questions

What does the poster show?

Your travel photos as postcards: a red and blue airmail border, the photo, a stamp, a postmark and, at the bottom, the place handwritten. Three to nine cards, slightly tilted, with a title, a signature and a small line. Four paper styles, and photos in colour or in black and white.

How many cards, and what do I write on them?

Three to nine. Under each photo you write the place and, if you like, the date (twenty-four characters at most). A card without a caption is still a card: the strip at the bottom is simply empty.

Do portrait photos work?

Yes, but a card is wider than it is tall: a portrait photo is cropped at the top and bottom, a little above the middle to keep faces. For nothing to be lost, prefer landscape photos.

Which photos should I choose so that faces can be seen?

Clear photos with faces in the middle: a photo that fills a cell is cut to its shape, a little above the centre. A cell is most often square; a square or nearly square photo is cut without losing anything, a very long one loses its sides. Mix wide shots and close-ups, and put them in the order of your story.

Can all the photos be in black and white?

Yes, it is a choice: black and white applies to all the photos at once, and the preview shows it straight away. It brings together photos taken at different times or with different cameras.

Which size should I choose, and can I see the poster before ordering?

A4 is enough for a few photos; beyond a dozen, a 30 × 40 or larger lets each one be read. A4 and 30 × 40 are also available framed. The preview follows every photo you add and every keystroke, and it is exactly what gets printed: the photos, their order, the texts, the style.

What happens to the photo I upload?

It is only used to make your poster. It stays private, is never published or used as an example, and is deleted thirty days after the order is dispatched (or after purchase, for the print-ready file).
