What to get Nana: seven gifts from all the grandchildren
A nana needs nothing, and she has said so. What she misses is her grandchildren around her. So the gift that works is the one they are all in. The NANA poster shows it: each letter is a photo of a grandchild, anywhere from one to twelve, and you see the result before you pay. Around her table, the Breton bowls each carry a first name, up to seven. The bracelet engraves the word MAMIE, French for Nana, then the grandchildren’s initials. If you have a good photo of the children, it comes back painted in watercolour with their names underneath, and the newest arrival can have a portrait of their own. An A4 poster is €19.90 and the bracelet €23.90; split between the cousins, nobody pays a lot. For Mothering Sunday or her birthday, order ten days ahead.

Frequently asked questions
What do you get a nana who has everything?
A gift where she finds her grandchildren: the NANA poster, where each letter is a photo, the Breton bowls with a first name on each, or a bracelet with their initials. A nana no longer needs things, but she keeps the ones that carry her family’s names.
What can all the grandchildren give together?
A poster, because there is room for everyone: the NANA poster takes up to twelve photos, the Breton bowls seven names. One person puts it together on their phone, sends the others a screenshot, and what you see is exactly what gets printed.
When is Grandmothers’ Day?
It depends on the country. In France it is the first Sunday in March, and in Spain the Día de los Abuelos is 26 July. A nana is often celebrated on Mother’s Day too, which in Ireland is Mothering Sunday, in March. Order ten days ahead.
What about a nana who does not like technology?
A poster goes on the wall and asks nothing of anyone: no plug, no password, no batteries. You take care of everything, from the photo to the order, and it reaches her door ready to hang.
Should we wait for a birth before giving the bracelet?
An engraved bracelet cannot be changed: you cannot add an initial to a plate that has already been burned. If a grandchild is on the way, wait for them before ordering the bracelet, or choose the NANA poster, which is simply made again as a new poster once the family has grown.
