Which photos to choose? Eight ideas
- One photo per person, facing the camera, face clearly visible.
- A close-up for the first letter: it is the one people look at first.
- A bright, sharp photo taken in daylight.
- Avoid group photos taken from a distance: the faces become tiny.
- A narrow letter, like “I” or “L”, keeps only the centre of the photo: put a well-centred face there.
- Black and white brings together photos taken at different times or with different cameras.
- Fewer photos than letters: one photo runs across several neighbouring letters.
- More photos than letters: each letter is cut into tiles.

The word MUM, every letter filled with a photo: the children, a holiday, a Sunday lunch. It is the gift you give your mother for Mother’s Day or her birthday.
You upload from one to twelve photos and the letters share them: one photo per letter, or one photo across several neighbouring letters, or a letter cut into several tiles when there are many. You can change the word — a space starts a new line — and the line before and after (“The best… in the world”), the signature and the date are yours. What you see is exactly what is printed; your photos are only used to make the poster and are deleted thirty days after dispatch.

What does the poster show?
A word — MUM, DAD, US, FAMILY or the one you choose — with every letter cut out of one of your photos. Around it, a line before and after the word (“The best… in the world”), a signature and a small line, for example a date. Four paper styles, and photos in colour or in black and white.
How many photos do I need?
From one to twelve, as you like. With fewer photos than letters, one photo runs across several neighbouring letters; with as many, each letter has its own; with more, each letter is cut into several tiles. There is nothing to adjust: the sharing is done for you, and you put the photos in the order you want.
Which photos should I choose so the faces show?
Bright photos taken facing the camera, with the face in the middle. A photo that fills a letter is cropped to the shape of that letter, a little above the centre: a narrow letter, like “I”, keeps only the middle of it. Group photos taken from a distance make the faces tiny; a close-up is better.
Can I change the word?
Yes, up to twelve characters: letters, numbers, an apostrophe, a hyphen, with their accents. A space starts a new line, which makes a block rather than a strip (“US” over two lines would be “U” and “S”). The word on the page is only a suggestion: GRANNY, UNCLE or a first name are typed the same way.
Can I make all the photos black and white?
Yes, it is a choice: black and white applies to all the photos at once, and the preview shows it straight away. It brings together photos taken at different times or with different cameras.
Which size should I choose, and can I see the poster before ordering?
A word on one line is wide and low: it reads well from 30 × 40 cm; a word on two lines works on an A4 as on a 70 × 100. A4 and 30 × 40 come framed. The preview follows every photo you add and every keystroke, and it is exactly what gets printed: the word, the photos, the text, the style.
What happens to the photos I upload?
They are only used to make your poster. They stay private, are never published or used as examples, and are deleted thirty days after your order is dispatched (or after purchase, for the printable file).
