Watercolour grandchildren portrait poster, personalised — their photo, painted

The children painted in watercolour from their photo, with their faces, their expressions and their clothes, surrounded by a soft wash of colours and a few splashes, on textured paper. Their names can be written underneath, in handwriting, with an optional line of text: a dedication, a few words. Four palettes to choose from: sage and ochre, powder pink, ocean blue or terracotta.

A sharp, well-lit photo where every face is clearly visible, head-on or three-quarter view, with all the children in the same picture. A holiday, birthday or garden photo usually works: the background disappears (a bench or sofa they are sitting on may stay). A phone photo is enough — JPG, PNG or WEBP, up to 25 MB.

Yes. An artificial intelligence paints the portrait from your photo in about thirty seconds: it is not a hand-painted work. You see the result before you order, and exactly that image is what we print, in our workshop in Aveyron — nothing is redone or retouched between the screen and the paper.

You get three tries per photo, with the palette of your choice; a sharper, head-on, well-lit photo usually gives a better result. The names are written separately: you can change them at any time without redoing the portrait. The portrait is painted by an artificial intelligence, so a likeness is not guaranteed. Once the order is placed, the portrait you saw is the one that is printed; like any personalised poster, it cannot be returned, except for a fault or an error on our side.

In our tests, three children sitting on a bench, a brother and sister hugging and four cousins including a baby were all painted in full. The bench or sofa they are sitting on can stay in the portrait, and an adult who is clearly visible is painted with them — a father standing behind his children was painted with them. For the children alone, crop the photo before you upload it. The more children there are, the smaller each face becomes and the likeness may suffer; you see it before you order, with three tries per photo.

Take the photo yourself, or use one from a birthday, a holiday or a family meal: a single picture where every face is clearly visible. You see the portrait before you pay: if it doesn’t look like them, try another photo rather than giving it as it is. Write the names underneath and, as the line of text, a dedication such as “For Nana and Grandad, with all our love”.

Yes: the children’s names are written underneath, with an optional line of text of up to 48 characters, for example “For Nana and Grandad, with all our love”. It is in handwriting, smaller than the names, and you see it before you order.

It is only used to make your poster. It is stored in a private space, never published, and we delete it thirty days after shipping — or after purchase, for the print-ready file — along with the painted portrait. Location data in a phone photo is removed as soon as it is uploaded. To be painted, the photo is sent to an artificial intelligence service (Google), which receives it for that purpose only.
