The vehicle photo

Choose a sharp daytime photo, taken at a three-quarter angle from the front or the rear, where the whole vehicle can be seen. People, garage, wall or grass around it disappear; the number plate is not reproduced. If the photo shows several vehicles, the one in front is drawn.

Private photo, never published, deleted thirty days after shipping (or after purchase, for the print-ready file). The poster created is deleted with it.

The poster

The poster is made by an artificial intelligence from your photo, in about thirty seconds. Each photo gets three tries; the image you see is the one that will be printed. Your text is written separately: you can change it without redoing the poster.

Your text

Everything is optional: with no text, the poster keeps a default title, tagline and caption. What you write is printed exactly as you type it (the title and the caption in capitals), and the preview changes with every letter.

Full description

Your car, motorbike, scooter, pick-up, road bike or old tractor, redrawn as a vintage advertising poster: a gouache-style illustration, a big sky, a seaside, mountain or country road. The title, the tagline and the caption in the banner are yours: “Marcel’s Old Beauty”, “The joy of the open road”, “Since 1987 · Galway”.

It makes a gift for an enthusiast — the birthday of a father who looks after his car, Father’s Day, a leaving do, the purchase of a vehicle, a wedding car. On our tests, eight very different vehicles (a 1970s coupé, an SUV, a small city car, a motorbike, a scooter, a pick-up, a road bike, a tractor) stayed recognisable: the shape, the colour, the wheels, the headlights.

You choose the setting, upload the photo of the vehicle, and the poster appears in about thirty seconds. You see what will be printed before you order: that image, and no other, is the one that goes to print. It is made by an artificial intelligence, and a likeness is not guaranteed; the number plate is not reproduced (it is painted blank), and the people or the background of the photo do not appear on the poster. The photo is never published, and we delete it thirty days after your order ships — or after purchase, for the print-ready file. You get three tries per photo.

  • 250 g matte paper, pigment inks, printed to order.
  • Five sizes: A4, 30 × 40, 40 × 60, 50 × 70 and 70 × 100 cm.
  • Optional wooden frame on the A4 and 30 × 40, black, white or natural.
  • Or the print-ready file: all five sizes, each as a PDF and a 300 dpi PNG, by download link.

How it works

  1. You choose the setting

Seaside, mountain pass or countryside: the landscape of the poster. Choose it before you make the poster.

  2. You upload a photo of the vehicle

A sharp photo where the whole vehicle shows, from a three-quarter angle at the front or the rear. People and the background of the photo disappear. The poster appears in about thirty seconds.

  3. You write your text

The title, the tagline and the caption in the banner, if you like: with nothing typed, the poster keeps its own. You see what will be printed, at our workshop in Aveyron.

  4. We print in Aveyron

To order, on 250 g matte paper: in our Aveyron workshop, whatever the size, and every poster is checked there before it ships. Or you receive the download link for the file by e-mail.

Frequently asked questions

What does the personalised car or motorbike poster show?

Your vehicle — car, motorbike, scooter, pick-up, road bike, tractor — redrawn in a vintage advertising poster, in gouache style: a big sky, a seaside, mountain or country road, and a navy banner at the bottom. Three texts are written over it, in your words: a title in capitals in the sky (the vehicle’s name), a tagline under it, a caption in the banner. The poster imitates no real poster and no real brand.

Which photo should I choose for my car or motorbike poster?

A sharp daytime photo where the whole vehicle can be seen, from a three-quarter angle at the front or the rear: the poster keeps the angle of the photo. A phone photo is enough — JPG, PNG or WEBP, up to 25 MB. People, garage, wall or grass around the vehicle do not appear on the poster: in our test, a man standing in front of his saloon car and a second car in the background disappeared, and only the saloon was drawn. With three tries per photo, you see the result before you order.

Does the number plate appear on the poster?

No: it is painted blank, a white or cream rectangle with the blue European strip, without any character. In our tests, with a perfectly legible plate in every photo, no character came through; an AI guarantees nothing in a series, but you see the poster before you order, with three tries. That is deliberate: a number plate has no place on a gift you hang on the wall. If you want a number on the poster — a year, a figure — write it in the title or in the caption of the banner.

Which vehicles did you try, and are they recognisable?

We tried eight very different vehicles, photographed with a phone: a 1970s coupé, a recent SUV, a small city car, a road motorbike, a vintage scooter, a pick-up, a road bike and an old tractor. Each one stayed recognisable: the shape, the colour, the wheels, the headlights, and details such as the stripes on a bonnet or the rack of a scooter. Brand and model names written on the vehicle are removed; the badge stays, simplified, and cursive lettering can remain as an illegible stroke. We did not try a lorry, a boat or a plane, nor a photo taken at night or from very far away, nor a heavily modified vehicle.

Is the poster made by artificial intelligence? And what if it does not look like my vehicle?

Yes: an artificial intelligence draws the poster from your photo, in about thirty seconds. It is not an illustrator’s line, and the likeness is not guaranteed. You see the result before you order, and that exact image is what gets printed, in our workshop in Aveyron: nothing is redone or retouched between screen and paper. You get three tries per photo, with the setting of your choice. The text is written separately: you can change it without redoing the poster. Like any personalised poster, it cannot be taken back, except for a fault or mistake on our part.

Can I choose the setting of the poster?

Yes, from three: seaside (a corniche road, umbrella pines and a village on the sea), mountain pass (a winding road between snowy peaks) and countryside (a road lined with poplars between poppy and sunflower fields). The setting is chosen before the poster is made, at the top of the form, and decides the landscape — not the vehicle, which stays yours, of any year: a recent car is painted as it is. Redoing the poster in another setting redraws everything (a new try); until you do, the poster shown is the one that gets printed.

What can I write on the poster?

Three texts, all optional: the title, in capitals in the sky (24 characters at most, for example “Marcel’s Old Beauty”), a tagline in handwritten letters under it (48 characters) and a caption in the banner at the bottom (24 characters, for example “Since 1987 · Galway”). These words are written by our site, not drawn by the AI: they are printed exactly as you typed them. With nothing written, the poster keeps a title that goes with the setting, a default tagline and a default caption.

What gift for a car or motorbike enthusiast, and by when?

The poster of his or her car or motorbike, in the setting of an old advertisement, with the name they gave it: for a birthday, Father’s Day, a leaving do, the purchase of a vehicle or a wedding car. Ask for a photo of the vehicle — or take one when they are not around —, add a title and a tagline of theirs, and look at the result before you pay. Order at least ten days ahead; the print-ready file arrives by download link within the day.

What happens to the photo I upload?

It is only used to make your poster. It is stored in a private space, never published, and we delete it thirty days after shipping — or after purchase, for the print-ready file — along with the poster created. Location data in a phone photo is removed as soon as it is uploaded. To be drawn, the photo is sent to an artificial intelligence service (Google), which receives it for that purpose only.

Which sizes and frames?

A4, 30 × 40, 40 × 60, 50 × 70 and 70 × 100 cm: standard frame sizes, easy to find (IKEA, HEMA, Action, Desenio). Optional wooden frame on the A4 and 30 × 40, in black, white or natural, with acrylic glass; the larger sizes ship rolled, to frame at home.

What paper is the poster printed on?

250 g/m² satin matte paper, lightfast pigment inks. Printed to order in our workshop in Aveyron, whatever the size. Shipped rolled, in a sturdy long cardboard box; the A4 travels flat, in a stiff card envelope, and a framed poster in a cardboard box.

Can I get the file instead of the poster?

Yes. The print-ready file contains all five sizes, each as a PDF and as a 300 dpi PNG — ten files in all, by a download link sent after payment, to print wherever you like.

How long does it take?

Printed within 48 hours, then delivered to your home or a pickup point — home delivery only for the 50 × 70 and 70 × 100. The download link for the print-ready file is sent the same day.
